The podofix active adhesive brace
Podofix is an innovative method for correcting all types of ingrown and curled nails. This form of nail correction is suitable for almost everyone - even small children and diabetics. Therapists and their patients are convinced by both the medical and cosmetic results.
Podofix is a gentle alternative for correcting nail deformities. It helps deformed nails to grow naturally and healthily. This easy-to-use method can avoid operations and quickly and painlessly alleviate and permanently resolve symptoms.
Podofix is individually adapted to the shape of the nail and can be applied immediately, which usually provides noticeable relief for the patient. Applying and activating the brace only takes a few minutes and is barely noticeable. Even when wearing it, there are hardly any restrictions to be expected in everyday life, during sport or in the water.
application areas
The podofix active adhesive brace can be used in almost all cases of deformed, painful ingrown and curled nails.
The use of the podofix brace is also recommended for treating hypergranulation and corns in the nail fold. The podofix brace is also suitable for the cosmetic correction of deformed nails. As a preparatory treatment for the use of the 3TO brace or the COMBIped wire adhesive brace, a podofix brace can be used first if the nail fold is still too narrow for the wire hooks to be inserted.
Even after treatment with wire braces, the podofix active adhesive brace offers a simple and efficient way to support the nail in its corrected growth and prevent it from growing back.
Who can use the podofix active adhesive brace?
The podofix active adhesive brace may only be used by medically or cosmetically trained and experienced personnel.
functionality
The podofix active adhesive brace consists of an elastic plastic pad that is glued to the nail and an activation wire that tightens the brace after it has been glued on. After attachment, the wire lies in the recess of the plastic pad and can be smoothly sealed.
The podofix active adhesive brace is available in four different widths:
MINI (12mm); S (16mm); M (19mm); L (22mm)
Difference to conventional adhesive braces
Compared to conventional adhesive braces, the podofix active adhesive brace can be flexibly adapted to any nail shape and can be applied in just a few seconds without pre-tensioning.
Only then is the brace continuously activated and tensioned by the integrated wire. This guarantees a perfect fit, secure hold and maximum effect.
Treatment process
The plastic pad of the podofix active adhesive brace is individually adapted to the patient's nail shape by simply bending it. The brace can then be glued to the nail without tension. After about a minute, during which the active adhesive hardens optimally, it is activated by twisting the integrated loop.
This slightly lifts the edges of the nail and relieves the surrounding tissue. The dosage of the pulling force is infinitely variable and can be coordinated with the patient.
After shortening the excess wire, the gel depot of the podofix active adhesive brace is filled with PediGel and sealed in a few seconds. The therapy method is suitable for all age groups and can also be used on people who are allergic to nickel and on diabetics.
The costs of the podofix active adhesive brace are generally not covered by statutory health insurance. Private health insurance companies usually cover the costs in full. The cost per adhesive brace, which must be replaced every 4 to 8 weeks, is €40 per brace.
